Disappearing Car Door.

Stumbled upon this, bizarre comes to mind. Could be cool though, but I wouldn't fancy using the doors after a crash. Or on a cold icy morning when everything is frozen up! I think Im quite content with two hinges and a latch.

Modern-day matador

Cult Australian fashion label ksubi, toast the long awaited return of their coloured denim range, with a short film directed by Australian director Daniel Askill. kolors is a fume-fuelled, slow-motion battle between three colour-clad models and a trio of '80s muscle cars.

With the ksubi team securing the very last sets of limited edition coloured tyres by Kumho available in Australia they then enlisted Askill and his team at Collider to fuse the vivid smoke with the spectral denim range. Models Bambi Northwood-Blythe, Cisco Gorrow and Heidi Harrington-Johnson act as modern-day matadors to the rumbling Ford's that attempts to hunt them down while the girls soar above the cars to an operatic soundtrack.

Shot next to Sydney's Kingsford Smith International Airport in barren industrial wasteland that car fanatics converge on after dark and with a Phantom camera, Askill captures each and every denim movement and smoke billow at 1500 frames per second.

Curborough track day

So as some of you know, motor sport was a big part of my upbringing and a lot of my childhood was spent either under cars in a pool of oil clutching a spanner, or equally spent bump starting various cars in all sorts of places and weather conditions. So hence my love of cars and getting my hands dirty. Today my Dad and I went and did a track day in his Jedi 600 - a very light single seater racing car at Curborough race track where you pay 25 quid each and can use the track all day. So very cheap by all means.

We've never ever had any trouble with the Jedi and its been probably the most reliable car I have ever driven. So usually we literally fill it up with petrol, pull it out the trailer and hit the track. Until today.

The day started well, with a few decent laps until my dad hopped in and next thing we see is him rolling down the straight very slowly towards the pit area. We realized that where the Jedi had been so reliable we hadn't checked over the tightness of a few bolts holding the cog which sends the power to the drive train. So we got some new bolts from my Dads bottomless tool box and in the process of fixing this realized the rear wing mounting was seriously cracking. So it was a blessing that we found this as had it had broken during driving a quite serious incident could've occurred.

We then continued to enjoy playing around with the car minus the rear wing which we had removed. Which I can tell you now, makes a car like the Jedi very slippy and we both narrowly avoided spinning off multiple times. However we where testing the speed of the Jedi on the straight when the back end decided to fly out out of nowhere taking my Dad and the car spinning dramatically across the track decelerating from 85 to 0 mph in a matter of seconds.

This was due to yet again a bolt that had worked loose on the suspension and broke off part of the suspension, this twinned with the lack of rear wing ended up sending the car off the track and to an early finish for the day. Luckily my Dad, the car and myself all managed to survive and I think We've learnt a vital lesson about tightening up screws and generally checking the car before a race event.All in all a very hair raising but fun day.

Just had a lovely last week enjoying the sun and going to London - Which I will talk about tomoro. Today as you know the clocks went forward so I got thinking about last summer and playing around on this Solex - I'll let Wikipedia explain the wonders of them

And as my good friend Peter said - "as they where frequently used by the elderly these bikes where like legal euthanasia tools." Excellent! But that put aside what a fantastic fun piece of design.

Hot Wheels 3D. Childhood dream comes true.

with all the 3D films and home 3D systems its not suprising that Hot Wheels,(a childhood love of mine) have done a 3D advert similar to the recent Ralph Lauren 3D advert. Which I thought was fabulous aswell, but I must admit the hot wheels was a cheeky childhood memory that I thought might make a few peoples inner child smile.

Natural Born Killers

Today has been fairly relaxed, handed in my uni work last night after my very long weekend at fashion week. got a few bits for my car and will fix it up tomoro so tabby is ready for the summer and going to the new forest for picnics and pints.

And i promised various people (thanks to my models Joe and Rosie)who were involved with my shoot the other weekend for our natural born killers project that I would put them up here. So here they are



There not the most amazing movie posters ever but it was certaintly a fun little project.
