Just seen this on the news:
Pentagon officials said they had the body of Bin Laden and they were "certain" it was the Saudi-born al-Qaeda leader.
President Barack Obama was due to announce the news to the world shortly from the White House in a highly unusual late-night television appearance.
Bin Laden, 54, became the face of terrorism following the attacks on New York's Twin Towers and the US has been hunting for him ever since.
DNA tests were conducted on the body in order to be sure it was him, but details on how he died have not yet been released. However, reports from the US said he was killed in an American-led operation near Islamabad.
The death of Bin Laden is a major accomplishment for Mr Obama and his national security team.
